Theatre @ York presents: Hippolytos
Hippolytos, the militantly chaste son of Theseus, resists the advances of his stepmother Phaedra. This classic Greek tragedy pits Aphrodite, the goddess of love, against Artemis, the goddess of war, dramatizing the deep struggle that can ensue when personal desire runs contrary to the standards of society.

 

February 2-3, 2012

Toronto Dance Theatre performs Pteros Tactics
York University's dance program welcomes the stellar company, Toronto Dance Theatre, directed by alumnus Christopher House, as artists-in-residence. TDT will conduct classes and workshops with York dance students January 9-12, 2012. This experience of TDT's work culminates in public performances of House's provocative, widely-acclaimed work, Pteros Tactis.

 

April 10-20, 2012

The Finish Line - Film Screenings
York University's undergraduate film students premiere their new productions in The Finish Line. The productions, ranging in length from two to twenty minutes, run the gamut of themes and genres, in formats ranging from digital video and computer generated effects to 16mm and Super 8 film.
